It may be an "uncivilised" last resort, but Obi-Wan's blaster skills are eventually put to good use in neutralising Separatist scourge, droid commander General Grievous, during their final battle on Utapau, as part of the dramatic events of EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH.
